- COMPASS/SONYC (K thru 8)
The afterschool program at Roy Wilkins Family Center has been in existence for over 30 years. We serve Elementary student in grades K-5 [5yrs to 10yrs] and Middle School students in 6th–8th grades [10yrs to 14yrs], Monday to Friday, from 3pm to 6pm. Our population consist of 80 Elementary and 50 Middle School students from various Feeder Schools throughout the Southeast Queens Community.
- Work Force-Adult Literacy
The Work Force-Adult Literacy programs offers Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), formerly HSE and GED Preparation Classes and Computer Classes. Students gain knowledge in Core Curriculum to pass the TASC test. In addition, we also offer Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL) and A+ Certification Exam Preparation. Students enrolled in computer classes will get beginners and advanced training in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Beacon Preventive
Southern Queens Park Association Beacon Preventive Program has been in existence for more then twenty-two years. The services that are directly provided to all families are to promote and support positive parent-child interaction. The goals of beacon preventive are to:
- Strengthen family relationships
- Identify and develop parents’ strengths that support nurturing
- Interact and encourage the use of community resources
- Support families while working closely to strengthen and empower themselves to be self-sufficient.
- Assess and provide community based referrals and link families to needed resources
- Work collaboratively with parents, children, schools and the communities as they gear toward family stabilization.
- Beacon – Community Schools
Serves K-12 students in Queens Community Board 1 through after-school and adult evening programming. Yearly, over 1500 community members receive services. Services are provided to all participants in academic enhancement, life skills, career awareness/school-to-work transition, civic engagement/community building, recreation, health and fitness, and culture/art services, dance, art, tutoring, sports (basketball), fitness, technology, adult-education etc.
- South Jamaica Cornerstone Community Center – NYCHA
South Jamaica Cornerstone has been in existence for over 10 years. South Jamaica Cornerstone is open six days a week. Monday – Friday 11:00 am – 10:00 pm. South Jamaica Cornerstone is open to service all families in and around the South Jamaica area. There are 60 afterschool and summer camp participants enrolled in program services. Our summer camp and afterschool program services participants between the ages of 5-13.

- Summer Camp (Sports/Dance)
Here at SQPA we offer a Sports and Dance program for Kindergarten – 5th grade children. Within this program you can choose either the Sports or Dance Camp. Both camps are a 6-week program running from July 1, 2019 – August 9, 2019. The price of camp (Early-Bird Special) is $1,100 until April 30th 2019. After April 30th the cost of camp is $1,300. There is a non-refundable fee of $200 for registration. The registration fee will be deducted from the overall cost of the balance.
